In This week’s Rotary meeting, Rotarian Dan Lobb had the pleasure of introducing Waxahachie High School vice principal Debbie Gish as a special guest.  Each month Rotary honors an outstanding student from each of our public high schools as Student of the Month.  Ms. Gish had the honor of introducing the WHS Student of the Month Award for December 2015 to Colton E. Osborn.

Colton, the son of Felicia and Russell Osborn, is well deserving of this special honor.  He this ranked in the top ten of his class.  Waxahachie High School and it’s staff are very proud of his accomplishments.

Colton, who is Parliamentarian for the Student Council this year, was President of the class in his Junior year.

Colton has excelled in many UIL and Academic Decathalon competitions.  He is, also,  involved in National Honors Society, Spanish Honor Society, AP Science and AP Math Clubs and Community Service

Waxahachie FFA, where Colton is currently the Sentinel of the Waxahachie FFA Chapter, has played a major role in his high school experience.  He won the Star Green Hand Award in his freshman year, as well as the Lone Star FFA Degree, which is the highest achievement that can be awarded to a high school student.  Colton has contributed to several career and leadership development events.

Because business and math are Colton’s passion, he will be attending Texas A&M where he will study Accounting.  He also plans to obtain his CPA license as well as his Masters of Accounting degree at the University of Pennsylvania.

It is an honor for Rotary to acknowledge such a outstanding student as Colton E. Osborn.  A plaque with his name engraved on it will hang in the halls of Waxahachie High School for many years to come.
